Imitation With Lines

Petar Sapundzhiev (Bulgaria)

“Imitation With Lines” is a digital kinetic installation recreating in real time a particular Turing Test in the context of opposing human and machine creativity. How do we humans interact with our digital identity? How can a digital algorithm be perceived as a creator? This project seeks to inspire these questions and facilitate their ensuing dialogue. Built with materials like wood, metal, water, textile, electronics and software algorithms, the visual aesthetics of the installation is inspired by the first creative Turing Test based on Piet Mondrian’s abstractionism. The project "Imitation with lines” is supported by the National Culture Fund, Creative Initiatives 2020.
