#BIOCOIN is a multi-year multidisciplinary project by Antoni Raizhekov, exploring the biological value of money expressed through sound by using the process of sonication of bacteria living on coins and banknotes. The first artwork of the #BIOCOIN series was created in 2018 within the residency for art, science and business at the Bosch Research Institute in Renningen in collaboration with Akademie Schloss Solitude - Stuttgart and Wimellforschung - Berlin and with microbiologist Tanya Mauher and site production with Dimitar Ovcharov, using euro coins and banknotes. In 2021 the second #BIOLEV installation was created based on Bulgarian coins and banknotes as an interactive sound installation funded by the Creative Initiatives of NFC Bulgaria. The work "Duet in self-determination" was created later in 2021 especially for the TETRAMATIC Festival in Lviv Ukraine in collaboration with Ivan Roman and Alexander Gromiko - microbiologists at the Lviv National University "Ivan Franko" in Ukraine and was funded by the Austrian Academic Exchange Program - OeAD.
